Ram Recap: Friday, September 27

The Cross Country teams ran a home invitational. Tristan Murphy placed 9th, followed by Blake Roberts  placing 39th; Seth Hall placing 49th; and Will Stroud placing 52nd. The girl’s team finished third out of all the teams at the invitational. Morgan Kingston placed 8th overall for the girls, followed by Sierra Smetzer placing 12th; Kelsey Smith placing 17th; Abi Andis placing 22nd; and Kylene Baker placing 31st. Ashton Leonard, Luci Waynick and Becca Lowe all finished with personal bests.

The Varsity and JV volleyball teams played against Borden at home. The JV team lost in two sets, but the varsity girls won in 4.

At the junior high cross country meet against Oolitic and Mitchell, the girls placed 1st. Rachel Umpleby led the way by placing 2nd, KC Warren finished strong at 3rd, our very own Ali Kerby finished 5th, and Kimana Knight finished 10th.  Coach Tuell was amazed at how well the girls ran together – all placing in the top 10! The boys finished 3rd due to not having a full team.  Ian Wilder stepped up for the boys by finishing 2nd, and Josiah McCoy finished strong in 4th place.

The junior high football team played West Washington on the road. The 7th grade team pitched a shutout, winning 30 – 0, and the 8th grade team won 36 – 14. The 8th grade team was led by our own Garret Vincent with 2 touchdowns, with one thrown and one ran.
