Newsmakers: Football Field to Get New Logo

For years the agriculture class has painted a 16 foot tall, 22 foot wide P in the middle of the football field for every home game, and every year it has been the same simple design. This year art teacher Chris Jones and agriculture teacher Cory Scott have teamed up to come up with  a new design for Ram fans to enjoy.

“I made this decision because it is fun and will raise money for a good cause,” said horticulture teacher Cory Scott.

This year the class has allowed a student of any age and grade to develop a different design for the “P”. These designs were required to be turned into to Scott by Wednesday, August 21.

From the initial entries, students enrolled in the horticulture class will pick their five favorites, and then at the first three home football games fans will be able to vote on which one they like the best.

“The Horticulture class voted to determine the five finalists.” said horticulture teacher Cory Scott.

Visitors to the home football games will vote by putting money in the jar with the design they like the best. After the third home game the winner will be chosen by who has the most money in their jar. The student who designs the winning P will be announced to the fans at the West Washington game.

“I hope that we can turn this into a yearly event to raise money for worthy causes.  It is also a way to involve more students and community members in the special Home game atmosphere that we have created here at Paoli.” said Scott.

All proceeds raised from the money jars will be donated to Orange County Humane Society.
