On September 24, 1966, the first football game was played at John D. Cook Field. Before the construction of the football field, games were played at Jay C Park. From that point until now, Cook field has been the Friday night home of the Paoli football team.
¨On September 23, 2016, the athletic department will celebrate 50 years of football at Cook Field the night of the Corydon Central Varsity football game,¨ said athletic director Darek Newkirk.
On that night, the 1966 football team will also be celebrated. The players on that team are the first and only outright champions of the Mid-Southern Conference in football.
September 23 will be a night full of nostalgia and remembrance of this special team and special field. Come out support the Rams, past and present.
