Everyone has an idea of what they want to be when they graduate, but being a school principal was not the plan for Chad Johnson.
“I wanted to work in education, but the principal idea evolved once I started to take leadership roles as a teacher and as a student. I was the president of two student clubs in college, and I continued in a leadership role anytime one was presented. Once I earned my Masters degree in Educational Leadership and Supervision I decided to start looking for a principalship and it has led me to this point,” said Johnson.
Johnson graduated from PHS. When in high school, Johnson’s favorite memories were with his friends. Most of them are people who he stills talks to today.
“My only regret is that those days flew by and I did not grasp onto them like I should. I really enjoyed my time here as a student, but now it is hard to remember all the good times that I had,” said Johnson.
In high school, Johnson learned what it was like to be around excellent teachers. That is what inspired him to go into education. If he could go back and change anything he did or did not do in high school, Johnson would take more college credit classes. There were not very many college classes when he was in high school, but he wishes he would have taken some so his classes weren’t so packed.
“Remember these good times. Your teenage years are some of the best years of your life. Make the best of your days and work hard, it does pay off in the future,” said Johnson.
