Leadership is a good quality to have. If you’re a leader, National Honor Society (NHS) and National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) applications will be available for students to pick up the week of August 21 in sponsor Jaye Brewster’s room.
NHS recognizes students who show good qualities of character, leadership, service and scholarship. All students who would like to be in NHS or NJHS must have a GPA of 3.3 or higher and have attended PHS for at least one semester. Students who are in NHS are expected to do 20 hours of community service each year. Students who are in NJHS are expected to complete 3 service opportunities before the school year is over.
“All are expected to maintain high qualities of scholarship, leadership, and character,” said Brewster.
The tapping for NHS and NJHS will take place on PHS News Today, like last year. Induction will be in the Auditorium in approximately 6 weeks.
Make sure to get your applications soon.
