On February 29, the first Teen Movie-Making workshop will be held at Springs Valley High School from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Through a partnership with Indiana University Center for Rural Engagement and the Black Vulture Project, three workshops will be hosted, with the final two on March 7 and March 14. They will be led by filmmaker Eric Ayotte and film programmer and producer Charlie Jones.

Through these workshops, filmmaking will be broken down and made easier to learn. Students will learn the basics of filmmaking, including storytelling, the rules of filmmaking lighting, sound and editing. By the end of the course, students will have completed a film.

The workshops are free of charge and open to all skill levels. Anyone interested in the courses should register at rual.indiana.edu/events.
