After decades of impacting students and members of the community, the school board voted to name the track after Athletic Director and track coach Darrell Newkirk, and the auditorium after English teacher Ruth Uyesugi.
Both of these individuals have dedicated their lives to the students at PHS to better their education as well as their lives.
There will be a ceremony held at the West Washington vs. Paoli football game this Friday, September 14, for the naming of the track in honor of Newkirk. Current and former students and track runners who ran for Newkirk are invited to attend.
The ceremony for Uyesugi is yet to be announced.
