The Rams had a long weekend playing both Scottsburg and Dubois. On Friday, April 22, the Rams were defeated by the Scottsburg Warriors 0-19. The Rams also played on Saturday, April 23 against the Northeast Dubois Jeeps and lost 3-13.

Head Coach Jeremy Payton made a few comments about the Scottsburg game.

“We are starting to see some improvements with the young freshman.  Even though the outcome isn’t what we are wanting we are getting better.  Scottsburg is a great team,” said Payton.

Payton saw some promising plays during the Saturday game against Dubois.

“Saturday we played really well for four and two-thirds innings.  We had some strong winds at the field which made it tough to field fly balls.  We had a 3-1 lead with two outs in the fifth.  A high fly ball was missed because of the wind and we ended up having Dubois go on and have 11 straight hits to score 12 runs in the fifth,” said Payton.

Payton gives praise to two of his hitters for their great offensive plays.

“Trey Rominger had a two run home run and as well as Brandon Cook had a solo.  Our hitting is coming along well,” said Payton.

Payton gives the Ram fans a preview of tonight’s game.

“Tonight will be a tough test with a good Perry Central team coming to our place.  We hope to get on the winning side and try to build on it for the season.  We keep talking with the kids to keep coming and playing hard and staying focused.  We are really close to becoming a sold team.  We still have three weeks left and a lot of baseball left with some winnable games,” said Payton.

The Rams will face the Perry Central Commodores at home tonight starting at 5:30 p.m.
