PHS Welcomes Officer Andry to the Halls
January 17, 2020
This semester, PHS has introduced a new face into the building. Former school resource officer Doug Soultwedel is stepping away from the SRO position, but he will continue to be a part of local law enforcement. Officer Caleb Andry, a 2011 PHS graduate, will fill the position until the end of the 2019-2020 school year.
As an officer, Andry has had extensive training in various aspects of law enforcement. He has completed general law enforcement training, a 40-hour pre-basic class and a 16-week long department-specific training academy. Andry is also trained in emergency vehicle operation, firearms and defense tactics. He has also completed criminal and traffic law, interview techniques, ARIDE (Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving) and drug detection training.
Andry is looking forward to spending time at PHS in the SRO position.
“It’s nice to be home. I’ve spent the first several years of my life, especially the formative years, here. It’s nice to be around the youth. They bring a certain energy to school. It’s nice to be around people who are excited to wake up most days and get things done. It’s something I can feed off of,” said Andry.
