USDA Service Allows Free School Meals for Students
October 20, 2020
In September, Paoli Jr. Sr. High School began offering free meals to students. This was made possible due to the many services conducted by The United States Department of Agriculture’s Food, Seamless and Nutrition Service program.
Through December 31 or until funds run out, students statewide will be able to order reimbursable meals for no cost. Both lunch and breakfast are included. If a student orders an extra helping or a desert, this will still be charged to their account. Post deadline, students will resume paying $2.75.
“This is for every school in the state. They intend to fund every school through the end of the semester or until funds run out,” said Superintendent Greg Walker.
If funds last past December 31, presumably, lunches will continue to be free for students until funds are depleted.
