PHS Girls Basketball Kicks Off October 31

Gracie Walls, Paolite Staff Writer

On Saturday, October 31, the Paoli High School Girls Basketball team will kick off their season with a scrimmage against North Harrison. Starting at 1 p.m., the scrimmage will consist of four quarters of varsity and one quarter of junior varsity, all of which will be 12 minutes of running clock. Each quarter of the varsity portion of the scrimmage will consist of different game set-ups: one quarter will be for man-on-man defense, one will be for zone defenses, another will be for pressing, and the last will be a free-for-all, or ‘anything goes,’ quarter. The junior varsity quarter will also be a free-for-all quarter.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, girls basketball fans will be limited to 50% capacity and will be required to wear masks unless actively eating or drinking.

“We have a lot of spots up for grabs, so hopefully this scrimmage will give us an idea on a couple of those spots. We will also put a few different lineups out there and see which ones work the best,” said new Head Girls Varsity Coach Donavan Crews.
