On Monday, classes in one of the Lost River Co-Op buildings were interrupted by a minor flood caused by a fluke accident. The flood was in the building that houses the health science, computer science and robotics classes.

In one of the bathrooms, the hot water faucet handle blew off and then that just let water blow through the top of the handle and out into the floor,” said Assistant LRCC Director Jason Goodman.

Goodman helped clean up the building with shop vacs to suck most of the water out. Students in the morning classes were directed to the cafeteria while the space was cleaned. Afternoon classes were able to return to the building and continue to learn while fans blew to dry the carpet.

Cardboard boxes, paper, and a few books mainly were the only things affected by the water. None of the computer equipment was impacted by the water.
