On Wednesday, April 4, homerooms will set up booths to participate Peddler’s Market. Peddler’s Market is a carnival-festival event where there are lots of booths offering items for sale or activities to do.

Teachers have submitted their requests for what shops/booths their homerooms would like to be responsible for and history teacher Chris Lindley is in charge of assigning shops and organizing the market.

“Peddlers Market began with a collaboration between business and math classes, probably more than 20 years ago, but ceased when Mrs. Tucker, our business teacher, retired. We are bringing it back for several reasons. One, we have determined that we need to build fun into the school. We want this to be a place we want to be! Peddlers Market was always a highlight of the school year for many students who anticipated the fun activities and food it brought to school. The second reason is that preparing and executing a plan like creating a business is a great way to teach Indiana’s employability skills in a fun way. I am very excited about what students are learning from participating in this project,” said Lindley.

Overall, teachers are hoping Peddler’s Market will help raise student morale and teach them a valuable lesson about spending and saving money.
