The Rams Roasters Cafe started last spring and is run by the Life Skills class. The students deliver coffee, tea and hot chocolate to the doors of classrooms during the first period of school on Fridays. The Life Skills students collect the money whenever people receive the coffee, working on their customer service skills. The current customer base of the Rams Roasters Cafe is the Staff at PHS.
The Life Skills class is led by Lyndi Baxter. Baxter hopes her students will use the skills they have learned in the classroom to sell coffee. She also wants her students to use skills needed in the working world in real-life practice. This program will help the students raise money for curriculum, trips and other necessities.
“I love how excited my students get for Friday morning coffee shops. They love going out into the school and seeing some familiar faces as well as meeting new people. They feel more important when they get to serve others. I am so proud of them and I love seeing the joy they bring to others,” said Baxter.
As of now, students are not able to buy Ram Roasters coffee, but Baxter says that in the future there is a possibility that the Ram Roasters Cafe will branch out to students.
