On Friday, September 1, the Paoli Rams will face their county rival Springs Valley Blackhawks at Paoli for the annual Orange Bowl game, kickoff beginning at 7 p.m.
Currently, the Blackhawks lead the total number of Orange Bowl wins with 32. The Rams have 29 Orange Bowl victories. Last season, the Rams won at Springs Valley with a score of 29-22. Senior Trey Rominger scored the game-winning touchdown with 33 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter.
Rominger has yet to be defeated by the Blackhawks.
“I feel pumped and excited for the Orange Bowl,” said Rominger.
The game on Friday will be Head Coach Neil Dittmer’s thirteenth Orange Bowl contest.
“It is important because it is a county rivalry. Paoli and Springs Valley have a long history of competing against one another in all sports and the Orange Bowl is a big part of that,” said Dittmer.
The current record this year for the Rams is 1-1 after their victory against the Corydon Panthers Friday with a score of 37-0. The Blackhawks are undefeated after beating Mitchell last Friday with a score of 48-0.
