The Rams Varsity Tennis team played Barr-Reeve on Monday, August 28. The Rams lost 0-5. Senior Raygar Minton lost at No.1 singles, sophomore Kirk Hughes lost at No.2 singles, junior Jonny Shellenberger lost at No.3 singles, freshman Colton Henderson and Blaze Knapp lost at No.1 doubles, freshman Klay Turner and junior Jason Beavers lost at No.2 doubles. “Barr Reeve is an incredible opponent and a sectional favorite this season. Good match to try and grow from the loss,” said Coach Matt Wolfe.
The Rams then played Corydon Central away on Tuesday, August 29. Sophomore Kirkland Hughes won No.1 singles, junior Johnny Shellenberger won No.2 singles, freshman Blaze Knapp lost No.3 singles, freshman Colton Henderson and Klay Turner lost No.1 doubles, sophomore Chad Sullivan and Dakota Mousty lost No.2 doubles.
The Rams also traveled to Crawford County to play the Wolfpack on Thursday, August 31. Sophomore Kirkland Hughes won No.1 singles, junior Jonny Shellenberger won No.2 singles, sophomore Dakota Mousty won No.3 singles, sophomore Chad Sullivan and freshman Blaze Knapp won No.1 doubles, freshman Colton Henderson and sophomore Charlie Higgins won No.2 doubles. The Rams tennis team is currently 3-2.
The Lady Rams Volleyball team started off their week at Lanesville Monday, August 28. The Rams won in an easy three sets. The scores for the game were 25-12, 25-11, 25-19. The Jv lost in two sets to Lanesville with scores of 12-25, 18-25. The Lady Rams then traveled to Eastern Pekin and won in another easy three sets with scores of 25-18, 25-14, 25-16. The JV also won in two sets with scores of 25-9, 25-8.
The Varsity Cross Country team traveled to North Harrison on Thursday, August 31 for a meet. The places for the boys are sophomore Jacoby Piper 58th, freshman Zaden Taylor 82nd, sophomore Billy Bob Apple 98th, senior Kaleb Ruth 109th. The girls scores were sophomore Jone Iraeta Aristi 54th, freshman Addie Payton 80th, freshman Ada McSpadden 82nd, and senior TyLynn Taylor 89th.
The Lady Rams Golf team traveled to Salem for a four-way meet on Tuesday, August 29. The scores for the Rams were junior Avery Crews 54, sophomore Alivia Sweet 55, senior Micaela MacDonald 69. Then the Ladies hosted on Thursday, August 31. The scores for the Lady Rams were sophomore Alivia Sweet 50, junior Avery Crews 50, senior Micaela MacDonald 61.
The JV Football team played Corydon Central at home on Monday, August 28. The Rams won 48-0. The Varsity Rams then played their Orange Bowl opponent Springs Valley on Friday, September 1. The Rams beat the Blackhawks 42-18. Trey Rominger had a really great game with four touchdowns and 235 yards on 30 carries. The JV then played the Blackhawks on Saturday, September 2. The Rams defeated their opponent 30-18.
