This year, the volleyball team needed a new coaching staff and Audrey Miller, Scott Blankenbaker, and Lexi Stroud stepped up to lead the Lady Rams. Miller leads the team as the Varsity Head Coach, Blankenbaker is the Varsity Assistant, and Stroud is the Junior Varsity Coach.
Both Miller and Stroud are returning to PHS to coach after playing for their Lady Rams teams in high school.
Miller coached one year at West Washington before getting the coaching position at PHS, but this is her first time as a Varsity coach. As for Blankenbaker and Stroud, this is their first year coaching volleyball.
The Lady Rams consist of eight returning seniors to help Miller lead the team. As of September 8, the Varsity team has a 15-3 record, a strong start for the Lady Rams. Miller has enjoyed coaching the Lady Rams and has some big goals for the team.
“I have a very talented group of girls that are prepared to go above and beyond to accomplish their goals. They come in every day ready to work hard and compete. My biggest goal for the team this year is to get a Sectional Championship, and I believe if they keep working hard and put their minds to it we’ve got a great chance,” said Miller.
Miller, Blankenbaker, and Stroud are planning to have a lot of success this season. Come support the new coaching staff and your Lady Rams for the rest of their season at their next game on September 11th.
