This past week, Rocky Ram’s tryouts were scheduled after school in the cafeteria. Because there was only one student who showed interest, sophomore Abby Poe was selected as the newest Rocky Ram.
Rocky Ram is the name of our school’s mascot and has recently made a comeback. Last year, senior Eliza Ross, along with 2023 graduate Nolan Walker, revived Rocky after the Booster Club raised money for a new uniform to add school spirit. Poe will now take Walker’s spot alongside Ross, alternating games to play the role of Rocky.
“Abby was the only student who showed any interest in being Rocky (alongside Eliza) this year. So, by default, Abby gets the job,” said Booster Club Sponsor Chris Jones.
Plan to see Rocky again at football games starting in late September and throughout basketball season.
