The next early release day for PHS students is Wednesday, October 4. The PBSI Committee, Positive Behavior Intervention System, is a big part of it. In October, students will be doing an Olympics-style activity which includes contests for the different homerooms to complete. One of the main activities will be CANstruction. CANstruction is an activity that will use nonperishable food items collected during the National Honor Society food drive next week.
“We believe taking these opportunities brings a little fun into the lives of students, builds memories, and gives opportunities for students to build skills that will help them long term and create positive behaviors,” said Assistant Principal Adam Stroud.
The early release day activities also connect to all parts of the multi-tiered support system at PHS. All homeroom and early release activities are to support students in various areas of academic support, employability skills, social and emotional skills, financial literacy, and creating a community for our students.
The early release schedule allows our teachers and staff to participate in professional development and planning time to create opportunities students have at PHS.
In preparation for this early release day, students can bring in nonperishable food items to be involved in the PHS CANstruction contest.
