Student Council sponsored the annual Football Homecoming on Friday, September 22. The coronation was held before the start of the Eastern Greene game.
Representing the underclassmen as prince and princess were freshmen Klayton Turner and Addie Peyton, sophomores Deegan Brashear and Libby Newkirk and juniors Garrett Hickman and Makynsie Russelburg.
While Turner was the freshman prince, he was unable to attend the coronation due to a tennis match. Payton was instead escorted by freshman Lynkon Campbell.
There were five king and queen nominations for the senior class: Cameron Apple and Lina Zheng, Max Bostock and Abby Tapp, Jason Beavers and Faith Gammon, Trey Rominger and Jill Coleman and McKinley Stewart and Lily Stroud.
Students voted via an online poll earlier that week. Rominger and Zheng were selected as Fall Homecoming King and Queen. The two were crowned by Eleanor Dittmer, daughter of Neil and Jenna Dittmer, and Christian Fleenor, son of C.J. and Caitlin Fleenor.
βIt was a good experience being crowned Homecoming King and I was very excited. I was glad to see my mom happy,β said Rominger.
Zheng also appreciated the honor, and was excited to be crowned.
βI feel very appreciated and grateful to be nominated from my peers. It was really cool experience. Eleanor was adorable and loved being crowned by her,β said Z
