On September 24, The National Honor Society held its annual Induction at 3 p.m. in the auditorium to welcome 33 new members to the service-based organization.
The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 by educators who believed students should be recognized for their character, service, leadership, and scholarship. The National Honor Society has motivated students for many years to prepare students for life after high school.
Thirteen high school students were inducted into the National Honor Society. These new members include Ayla Anderson, McKinley Stewart, Coy Busick, Brian Fullington, Jeremiah Hutcheson, Kayla Barnett, Coen Brace, Jayka Brown, Joshua Herd, Charlie Higgins, Libby Newkirk, Taylor Morgan, and Maddie Vernon.
“I joined The National Honor Society because I wanted to be more involved in my community,” said senior Ayla Anderson.
The National Honor Society members must complete twenty service hours and acquire a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
Twenty students were inducted into The National Junior Honor Society. These new members include Kina Arsenault, Kaylee Baxter, Aaliyah Gilmore, Sophie Holliday, Cheyenne Hopper, Zory Jenkins, Oliver Albertson, Sunday Asbell, Viola Bender, Kalyn Hannon, Lillian Johnson, Hannah Jones, Raleigh Klunk, Emily Lindsey, Braylyn Nadeau, Havoc Nichols, Jayda Smith, Sofia Smith, Kutter Springer, Bailey Tyler.
The National Junior Honor Society members are expected to complete five service hours. These members accept the high standards of The National Honor Society and will work hard to meet these standards and will be good role models for others in the community.
