On Tuesday, October 3, senior Lily Stroud was recognized by the Paoli Athletic Department and the Lady Rams Volleyball team for exceeding the 2,000 career assists and is now at a total of over 2200 heading into Sectional.

“I was very surprised when it was announced that I hit 2000 assists. I didn’t know that I was close, so it was very unexpecting, but it was a great feeling and a great achievement to have before the season ended,” said Stroud.

Stroud has played volleyball for nine years, including four years on the varsity team as the setter. As a varsity player, she plays setter, and in her role as a setter, her job is to set the ball up for the hitters.

“I am going to miss being able to play with my friends and my sister. I was very lucky to have my sister on the coaching staff this year and I think it made us closer than we already were. I will also miss playing with my friends because I built so many strong relationships with my teammates that makes the game more fun,” said Stroud.

Stroud and the Lady Rams will next play the winner of Brownstown Central and Henryville in their first game of Sectional on Saturday at 11 a.m.
