The Silent Book Club is a time for anyone who wants to enjoy the quiet and read during their lunch break. The Club meets in the library, and students can bring their lunches when the library is open. The Silent Book Club does not have a roster or membership requirements but is led by Librarian Rachel Miller.
The rules for the club are simple. Members must read silently and can read a book, magazine, or newspaper. Students can also read on their Chromebooks but not on their phones. Students can bring their lunches to the library but must clean up afterward.
“Anytime something new is started, it can take some time to really pick up,” said Miller. “Right now, we usually have two to four people during every high school lunch. The Silent Book Club doesn’t have many junior high participants yet, but we are hopeful.”
The Silent Book Club meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the library.
