Fans of fairy tales have a unique opportunity this week to see familiar favorites in a whole new show.
On Thursday, November 30, at 7 p.m., the PHS Drama Department will take the stage for the opening night of their fall production, “Law and Order: Fairytale Unit.” Their second performance will be on Saturday, December 2, at 2 p.m.
The show is about various characters from popular fairy tales trying to solve the case of who destroyed the houses of the three little pigs.
“One thing that is different about this show is that usually, in the fall, we do a musical. This year, our musical will be in the second semester. This show includes some faculty and some alumni, so come see who makes a cameo appearance,” said Drama Club Director Maria Wishart.
Auditions for the show were held before Fall Break, and many people were assigned multiple roles in the show. One of these cast members playing multiple roles is eighth grader Havoc Nichols, who plays Rumplestiltskin and the character Hansel from Hansel and Gretel.
“Audiences should expect to see familiar characters from fairy tales, but the audience should pay close attention because none of the characters names are directly stated. It’s going to be a pretty interesting show,” said Nichols.
Tickets will cost $5, and the show will be in the Uyesugi Auditorium for anyone interested in coming to the show.
