The graduating class recognizes their top performers each year by naming the top ten students academically. This year, a new display is up in the hall by the library to recognize this honor.
The Top Ten Display shows the ten students with the highest grades from their graduating class starting in 2009. National Honor Society Sponsor Melissa Higgins and senior Olivia McSpadden worked on bringing the project to life.
“There are displays all over the school recognizing athletes for their accomplishments, some of the staff members thought we should celebrate academic success as well,” said Higgins.
The National Honor Society helped cover the cost of the printing and the frames, and Melissa’s husband, Chris Higgins, donated his time and woodworking skills to make the wooden tracks mounted on the wall.
Media department members update the display each year with the new top ten.
