In December, Town of Paoli officials released a new alert system using “Reach Alert,” a web-based software that allows individuals who sign up to be notified of local emergencies. This includes weather alerts, road closures, power outages, and water outages sent via text, email, or voice calls.
This is a free service to ensure safety around the community and provide information to residents. Recent alerts have included street closures, weather alerts for winter conditions, and a major accident in a nearby community. This is an efficient way to ensure everyone has accurate and up-to-date information about local emergencies and warnings.
A Facebook post from the Paoli Police Department stated, “We hope that everyone gets on this system which could prove vital for timely information sharing in and around the Town.”
To sign up for alerts, go to https://www.reachalert.com and click Sign Up. Then type in Paoli, Indiana, and click on our town. Once you have done that, it will request some basic information, and then you will be registered for alerts. You may put in generic information, but alerts may be sent by address specifically for situations involving only a few town members.
