The Ag Department will host the annual Pig Sale on Sunday, March 10. The event will begin at noon and last until 3:30 p.m. in the Ag Shop and the Dr. Bill McDonald Animal Science Pavilion.
The Ag Department will sell the pigs raised in the barn by students in the animal science classes. Students and parents will be in attendance to run the event.
“The kids that raise the pigs get to keep the money. So, they’re hoping to line their pockets,” said Ag Teacher Cory Scott. “We expect to have buyers from all over Indiana. We know of at least one group coming up from Alabama to buy one of our gilts.”
In addition to the sale, the students will help sell freezer pork and concession food. They will also care for the animals to ensure they are ready for the sale.
