Study Hall is a place where students can have a break in their day to relax and catch up on school work. This year, sometimes during their Study Hall time, sophomore Coen Brace and junior Coy Busick go down to Throop Elementary to Mrs. Cara Hall’s class and help the students with their class work.
The collaboration started when Hall emailed Brace and asked if he and Coy could come to her class and help. The two agreed to use some of their Study Hall time to help tutor.
“We help Mrs. Hall’s class with their schoolwork,” said Busick.
Hall needed good male role models in her class and someone to help the students with their classwork.
“They give them someone older, who is not their teacher, but more as an older cousin, big brother type to come in and help them,” said Hall.
Students who are interested in working with elementary students and time in their schedule should reach out to elementary teachers to see if their is interest.
