The varsity football team has started their season 6-0 in the regular season and is leading the PLAC Conference with a 3-0 record. Leading rusher junior Tyler Hannon has run for 613 yards and seven touchdowns this season. The current leader for yards received is junior Cooper Spires, averaging 18.2 yards per game. Senior Isaiah Apple is leading the tackles on the team with 54. The Rams will play at home tonight to face the Crawford County Wolfpack for the Homecoming game.
The varsity girls’ golf team has only two players this year: junior Alivia Sweet and senior Avery Crews. Sweets’ best score this season was a 47 at Springs Valley, and Crews’ best was a 47 at the Salem Invitational. The Rams competed in Sectional, with Sweet shooting a 113 and Crews shooting a 97, qualifying her for Regional on Monday, September 30.
The boys varsity tennis team began their season 11-5. Junior Kirk Hughes is the Rams’ one singles player this season. The team will compete in sectionals on Wednesday, October 2.
The Lady Rams volleyball team holds a record of 3-22 overall and 0-3 in the conference. The Lady Rams’ player with the most digs is senior Chloe Smith, with 3.6 per set. Senior Jerzie Crane is leading the highest average kills per game with 1.8 and is also the team’s leading blocker, with 19 blocks on the season so far.
This year’s varsity cross-country team consists of freshman Cooper Lane, sophomore Addie Payton, sophomore Carolina Burkart, and Junior Billy Apple. Lane’s best placement this season is 9th, Apple’s best is 8th place, Burkart’s is 8th, and Payton’s best is 7th.

Junior Cooper Spires plays basketball, baseball, and football. Spires is in Booster Club and SADD. Spire plans to get CDLs after high school.

Mary Cook is a senior this year at PHS and is a part of the Drama club, is a chief photographer, and participates in FCA. Outside of school, Cook enjoys being a part of youth group, traveling, being outside, and doing photography. After high school Cook plans to go to college and get a degree in visual communication photography and build her own business.
