The Pride of Paoli has been diligently working on its 2024 marching band season since last school year. This year’s seven seniors—Ava Green, Christian Longest, Conner Bowman, Lainee Cox, Rylee Mckenna, Jacob Young, and Arah Brinkman—are leading the group, which has a combined total of 36 years in the marching band.
“The seniors have done a great job demonstrating the musical and visual techniques to the younger members,” said Band Director Christian Karkosky.
These seniors hope to make every moment count in their last year of the marching band.
“My personal goal for this year is to soak up every second I have with my friends in the marching band,” said McKenna.
The group has been working hard to make this year a welcoming environment.
“This season the seniors have been working towards making the band environment a more welcoming and open space for young kids to join and want to be a part of. We have also tried to create new traditions in the program and implement more fun things for the younger kids to enjoy,” said Green.
All the seniors have worked hard to make everything go well.
“The seniors do a lot of work behind the scenes to make sure everything goes smoothly and to make band fun. We decorate the bulletin board and develop activities to make it as enjoyable as possible,” said Cox.
The Pride of Paoli can next be seen marching at the ISSMA Semi-State at Franklin High School.
