The annual Veterans Day Program will again occur at PHS in the upper gymnasium on Monday, November 11, at 10:10 a.m.
This program has been part of the school’s culture since the mid-1900s, celebrating those who sacrificed their freedom for the freedom of others. U.S. History Teacher Chris Lindley has coordinated this event for many years.
This year’s guest speaker will be Retired Army Veteran John Hopper. Hopper spent 25 years serving his country.
Of course, there is a heartfelt purpose for the program.
“Primarily, it is an opportunity to honor our men and women who have served the nation in the Armed Forces and to thank them for that service. However, it is also designed to teach our students about service and concern for our nation by exposing them to these veterans and learning to respect and appreciate those who have given part of their lives to protect our nation’s freedom,” said Lindley.
The annual Veterans Day Program has high expectations for the program’s viewers.
“A class act! I consider that what we do for our veterans here at PHS will be an exceptional and well-deserved tribute to their service. Mrs. Webb’s programs were outstanding and set a high bar,” said Lindey. “I intend to continue that tradition and keep us PaoliProud!”
Veterans and their families are invited to attend the event. Guests will be asked to sign in and be recognized for their service.
