Robotics Team Shows Skills in Engineering Competition

Robotics Team wins at Engineering Competition

On November 13, the students in the engineering classes who wanted to participate in robotics attended an engineering competition hosted by Vincennes University in Jasper, Indiana.

This unique engineering field trip was for a cash prize if placed well in the competition.

The class was split into two groups: Group A and Group B.

One of the groups, Group A, placed second in one of the competitions and won $50, whereas Group B won $200.

Odin Gehl, Zaden Taylor, Josh Herd, and Wylee Ruckman were students in Group A. Carson Neal, Jonny Shellenberger, and Oscar Lewellyn competed in Group B.

While at the contest, the students competed in different challenges, such as an egg drop, building a shelf, and designing pulley systems.

Senior Carson Neal competed as a member of Group B, enjoyed his time, and showed how this trip was very beneficial.

“We competed in multiple challenges, and we used collaboration and problem-solving skills to succeed in the challenges,” said Neal.

Anyone interested in joining the engineering program or robotics team, please contact Robotics Club Sponsor Mabel Zehr.
