The Pride of Paoli is in preparation for a new season, and Rookie Camp is coming up on May 13-16, right after school. All students are invited to learn the basics of marching band, and spots are open to join color guard, or you can play an instrument.
Rookie Camp is an opportunity to learn new skills and build new friendships. Students will learn how to march, how to stay in time, and the names of foot positions. Activities will take place in the high school band room after school.
The Camp is run by Director Chris Karkosky, Drum Majors junior Cannon Lambdin and freshman Vanessa Thacker, and other staff members including Matt Tabor, Judah Gehl, Mariah Griffith, Katie White, and Heather Nichols.
“I think marching band is something anyone can and should try out! There’s a lot you can learn from being in the Pride of Paoli, like being able to play an instrument, making friends, building leadership skills, and of course, the feeling of putting on an excellent performance. While a big commitment, it’s a great and worthwhile experience,” said Drum Major Cannon Lambdin.
Any student interested in joining the band should contact Band Director Chris Karkosky for more information.
