The new Paoli Schools application for mobile devices debuted in October in the Google Playstore, but was not made available in Apple’s App store until early November.
“I created the App over the course of many late nights and weekends,” said Superintendent Casey Brewster. The App is becoming more and more popular. An impressive 278 users (as of Nov. 12 at 11 p.m.) are enjoying the Paoli Schools App.
“A new user accesses the App every two hours, on average,” said Brewster. Five of those users are in Israel, one in Norway and one in Portugal.
There are many features included on the App. Some features are athletic schedules and events, school delays and cancellations, calendars (including breaks and events with dates), a map and bus routes.
Other helpful tools include school lunch account balances, school employee contact information with direct email link, videos, high school and elementary school grade books which allow you to check student’s grades and progress, and social media feeds such as Facebook and Twitter.
“The most popular features for elementary students, teachers and parents seem to be the ability to access lunch accounts, direct email links and videos. Junior high and high school students, teachers and parents appear to be most interested in the social media feeds, calendars and grade book,” said Brewster.
Because of the significant use of smartphones, an App is more user friendly than a website and all of the convenient features will give everyone reasons to download and use the App. It is not too late to download the Paoli Schools App. Brewster says that if the goal of 500 downloads is reached, there will be free ice cream for every K-12 student.
