During volleyball practice on Friday, the varsity and junior varsity teams were working on more than just their serves. The team was in on a surprise for their Coach Casey Bough. Her boyfriend, Jonathon Bowles, planned to propose to the coach during their practice.

“He had the volleyball players hold a sign and he asked me with all the players and coaches there,” said Bough.

Bowles lives in Crawford County, and he is the junior varsity basketball coach there. Bowles is currently working to obtain his teaching degree.

Senior Olivia Becht, a member of the varsity team, witnessed it all.

“​I’m so excited for Coach Bough! When we got out in the hallway and saw Jonathan out there, we all got so pumped and were laughing and crying! It was a great experience being present for the proposal and being apart of the proposal,” said Becht.

As of now, Bough does not have any wedding plans.

“I am going to get through volleyball season then I will start planning seriously. But it will most likely be next summer,” said Bough.
