One of the main goals of the Paoli football program is to graduate at least 15 seniors each year. Most classes, though, by their senior year, do not end up with that amount of players in their fourth year in the program.
So how do you keep the number up? Recruit new players from the hallways of PHS.
Tonight the Paoli football team will be recognizing the 2016 Football Signing Class at the boys basketball game against Corydon Central.
“This is recognition for the student athlete and family and an introduction to the Paoli Nation,” said Head Coach Brian Balsmeyer.
The Signing Class is a name for those who will be playing high school football for the first time at PHS. Much like a college signing day, this night will be for the family and individuals who will be joining the football program.
“We do this to get a commitment from our young people and their family because it takes a lot more than just the student athlete to be successful,” said Balsmeyer.
After tonight, the hope is to get student athletes to commit to the program and excite them and the community about this coming season.
