The Varsity softball team traveled to Salem to play in their first tournament of the season on March 17 at 5 p.m. The girls lost against the Salem Lions, with a score of 6-8.
“The scrimmage is a great experience for us to see where we are at as a team,” said Coach Neil Dittmer.
Dittmer used this game as an opportunity to see what the team needs to work on.
“We struggled at the plate a bit, and know that is where we need to improve,” said Dittmer. “I was not nervous, I believe some of the girls were a little nervous.”
It was the first game of the season so being nervous is normal.
“I thought our defense and pitching performed well, and were big positives for us moving forward,” said Dittmer.
The team’s next game is after Spring Break, they are playing at Henryville on April 2, at 11 a.m. their next home game is April 5 at 5 p.m. Come support the team in their upcoming matches.
