On March 8, Spanish students will be traveling to Louisville to attend a concert by the group Hispanic Flamenco Ballet. This field trip is organized by Spanish Teacher Crystal Shellenberger.

Students will experience the culture of Spain and Latin American countries like Cuba, Argentina, and Puerto Rico through music and dance. This will be a culminating activity in the Cumbia unit during which students will learn about the cultural influences, instruments and basic cumbia dance steps.

“The former Spanish teacher, Mrs. Carter, used to take students on this trip. When I started teaching in the 2019-2020, we weren’t able to go because of Covid. They have just started up the show again,” said Shellenberger.
