Spring Sports Welcome New Coaches

This year, PHS is introducing two new spring coaches. Matt Wolfe will be coaching the varsity golf team and Cara Hall will be coaching the boys varsity track team.

Wolfe has been working at the school for several years as maintenance, bus driver and varsity tennis coach.

Wolfe hopes to help the team succeed in any way he can.

“I want to bring a hard-working mindset to the team. To eventually bring in a winning culture to the boys golf program that it historically has always had,” said Wolfe.

Coach Wolfe started his official practice for the golf team on March 13.

Hall has coached track and cross country in the past at Linton Stockton High School. She moved back to the area this year and teaches fourth grade at Throop.

Hall is a very competitive spirit and wants the PHS track team to do great things this year.

“I will be there to push and motivate my athletes and, hopefully, get some new athletes out in the program. I want the athletes to try new events and see how far they can grow in their events. I wouldn’t mind to have a couple records broken either. Just a good, positive, fun, hard working atmosphere is what I am striving for the team,” said Hall.

Hall started her practice on March 9 and has already begun shaping the team for success this season.

The seasons for both sports will begin at the end of March and start of April.
