On Thursday, February 29, at 6 p.m. the Class of 2028 is invited to Freshman Orientation in the Uyesugi Auditorium.
During the orientation, multiple topics will be discussed, including 21st Century Scholars, graduation requirements, graduation pathway opportunities, Paoli College and Career Academic and Indiana College Core (dual credit), and diploma tracks. The possible diploma tracks are Core 40, Academic, or Technical Honors.
There will be an opportunity for groups and organizations at school to set up tables to display their programs, activities, or classes.
“Our goal is for freshmen to leave orientation with the following: Clear academic expectations and how it will change for them as they move from junior high to high school. Familiarize students with the other parts of the school and Lost River. Understanding of school culture and values. Awareness of support systems available. Knowledge of extracurricular opportunities. Expectations and improving social skills through interactions. Emphasis on responsibility and accountability. Encouragement to set goals. Opportunities for questions & answers.” said Principal Ed Wagner.
Parents and students will have the chance to explore and ask questions about our school’s extracurricular and elective opportunities.
Any with questions about this year’s orientation should contact the guidance office.
