Paoli School has changed the junior high testing. Some of the same things stay the same, but some things stay the same. One of the main people working on these changes is Rachel Miller. Miller is the school testing coordinator.
One change to the junior high testing is the addition of ILEARN Checkpoints in junior high classrooms. These small ILEARN assessments are spread throughout the year. They will give junior high students, parents, and teachers more information about how student learning progresses to ensure all students meet their educational goals. These will happen towards the end of each grading period.
Students should expect a traditional classroom testing experience for the ILEARN Checkpoints. The teachers will read scripted instructions, and students will log in on their Chromebooks. Students are expected to work quietly and put forth their best effort to demonstrate how much they’ve learned in their classes.
“We encourage all junior high students to put forth their best effort on these Checkpoints. The information gained from the assessments will help them set and meet their learning goals,” said Miller.
