On October 2, FCA hosted its second annual Fields of Faith at Cook Field. This event brought together 275 people from across Southern Indiana to come and worship as one.
Fields of Faith is a night when students from all backgrounds get together on the football field for one purpose: to share the message and love of Jesus Christ.
This is shown through encouraging one another with prayer, worship, scripture, and student testimonies.
With Fields of Faith being a student-led event, students also had opportunities to lead worship music and share testimonies– the stories of how Jesus changed their lives. Worship music this year was led by senior Mary Cook, senior Ava Green, junior Cannon Lambdin, freshman Vanessa Thacker, and Syria Christian Church drummer Camden Brown.
“My experience at Fields of Faith was really surprising. Everyone was together like a family and it was a time when I got to meet up with my friends. I shared a bible verse with a big crowd, as nerve-wracking as it was, I felt like every time another person got on stage, it would change another life. I would encourage anyone, who’s part of a youth group or not, to come out and meet new people,” said sophomore Garrett Cook.
Cook was a student who attended Fields of Faith in both 2023 and this year. Cook had the opportunity to share scripture onstage, and this year, his reading was from Romans 10:14- 17.
This year’s guest speaker was Corey Andry, campus minister at Redemption Christian Church in Tell City.
Andry is the son of teachers Laurie Jo and Paul Andry and a past member of Paoli’s FCA. At Fields of Faith, Andry spoke on “The Woman at the Well” story and encouraged students to stop chasing after what does not satisfy them and find satisfaction in Jesus.
Last year’s Fields of Faith brought together over 225 people from Paoli, West Washington, Springs Valley, Orleans, and other nearby towns. The event was even more widespread this year, with an extra 50 attendees.
