Tri-Hi-Y is a service club that helps people in need.
They plan activities and service projects to help community members who need it. Some of these things include making blankets for kids in hospitals, sending care packages to soldiers, sending cards with inspiring quotes, and even making hats for cancer patients.
Tri-Hi-Y hosts meetings on Fridays during homeroom. Maria Wishart and Kylie Flannery, the club president, help run it.
“The purpose of the club is to help people and give them courage when they are feeling bad or having a rough day and we enjoy putting service time out in the community,” said Flannery.
The members of Tri-Hi-Y are willing to volunteer their time and effort to help other people and make their days better.
Wishart began sponsoring in 2005 when the past sponsor retired.
“Once Cynthia Webb retired, the club needed a sponsor, and Hannah McAdams convinced me to take it on. I have enjoyed the service projects and watching students get involved in doing good,” said Wishart.
If you would like to get involved to help other people and put in the time to make things, all you have to do is come to the meetings and sign up or contact Flannery at [email protected] or Wishart at [email protected].
