The Paoli Archey team members will shoot in the State Qualifier event at North Harrison High School starting tonight and continuing through Saturday, February 1. Different team members will attempt to qualify for the state competition on different days.
The 2025 Indiana NASP State Tournament is an event in the Indiana archery world where students as young as fourth graders, all the way up to seniors, compete and represent their school in NASP tournaments. To determine if an archer can compete at the state level, they must first shoot in a State Qualifier Tournament where students shoot three scoring rounds at ten meters and an additional three scoring rounds at fifteen meters, with a max of 300 points possible.
Tonight, fifth grader Atleigh Wehinger, sixth grader Callan Owens, seventh grader Issac York, eighth grader James Lindsey, and freshmen Caleb Bowles, Emily Lindsey, Heaven Wehinger, and Hayden Wehinger are aiming to qualify. On Friday, sophomore Bella Tate will compete. On Saturday, the largest group of archers will try to qualify for State, including fourth graders Timmy Asbell, Garrett Flannery, Jace Lindley, Luke Kinsey, Braylee Phillips, Cecelia Tucker, Taylor Ward, sixth graders Easton Arsenault, Wyatt Arsenault, and Ziva Rippey, freshmen Kyle Patton and Adreyn Satterfield, sophomore Natalie Coble, and juniors Keegan Cox, Cheyenne Madden, Jay Severiano Domingues, and Alivia Sweet.
“I hope that our teams make it to State and believe that every archer has the potential to be state competition bound. We have shown a lot of growth over the season and I have high hopes for everyone,” said Archery Coach Amanda Bowles.
Those with qualifying scores for the State will travel to the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis on March 8.
