Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. Students will have several opportunities to celebrate and show appreciation to our teachers. PHS students will have dress-up days this coming week: Monday: Camo, Tuesday: Twin day, Wednesday: Dress to impress, Thursday: College, and Friday: Vacation. Students are encouraged to share photos with the media department to be entered into a drawing for prizes.
On Wednesday, during the May Early Release Day, teachers will be recognized at the Rammys. This will be the third year that the Rammys event will be held, awarding teachers with honors voted on by the student body. The event aims to celebrate the teachers and show how much the students appreciate their work. There are 17 awards, some of which include what teacher is “Ram Ready,” what teacher is a “Lifter Upper,” and what teacher is the “Chit-Chatter”. Students can now look at their Google Classroom and vote. Voting will end on Tuesday, May 6.
“Teacher Appreciation Week is a meaningful time to celebrate our educators’ hard work, passion, and dedication. It’s a moment to recognize how teachers support and impact students’ lives daily. A simple thank-you can go a long way in reminding them how truly valued they are. Teachers do more than teach equations or content—they instill resilience, grit, and the life skills students need to navigate the complexities of everyday living. At some point, students often realize that a teacher’s tough love wasn’t about giving them a hard time but about preparing them for the hard times life inevitably brings,” said Principal Ed Wagner. “The Rammys are a highlight of the week—a time to have fun, share some laughs, and maybe even see a different side of a teacher you didn’t expect. It’s something our staff genuinely look forward to and enjoy. It brings energy, positivity, and a little bit of humor for the week.”
Students should check their Google Classroom and be sure to vote before Tuesday at 3:10 p.m. Any questions about voting should be directed to Assistant Principal Adam Stroud.
