This year, the PHS New Today morning show has welcomed three new anchors for the 2025-2026 year, including senior Aurora Hays, and juniors Piper Frank and Chaise Case. Hays and Frank are taking on the role of main anchors, while Case joins veteran anchor, junior Justin Thornton, as a sports anchor.
Media Adviser Heather Nichols selected the three based on their excellent speaking skills and their willingness to participate in the news.
Hays is keeping her goals as an anchor simple.
“I am trying not to mess up on my words,” said Hays.
The job of the main anchors consists of sharing the most important news of the day, including updates on clubs, academics, and day-to-day information. The anchors are the face and voice of the morning show. The sports anchors keep the audience updated on the “Rams in action.”
“Every year, we are tasked with a great show. Having Aurora and Piper as main anchors puts my mind at ease because they will do an amazing job. Chaise has also done a great job so far with sports,” said Nichols.
The behind-the-scenes staff of the show includes: eighth grader Harper Brace, sophomore Bailey Tyler, and juniors Emilee Burton, Kyson Carroll, Cooper Lane, Grayden Padgett, and Wylee Ruckman.
