The class of 2026 is starting the year off with new class officers. This year’s class officers are President Libby Newkirk, Vice President Tori Patton, Secretary/Public Relations Dakota Mousty, and Treasurer Maddie Vernon. Students in the senior class voted for who they wanted to represent their class in a Google survey. Results were concluded on Friday, August 8.
The responsibilities of senior class officers include determining which events they want to host or not host. This includes senior sunrise, senior sunset, senior trip, and whether an invocation or benediction will be offered at graduation, as well as any other matters that may arise during the school year. The president and vice president will deliver the opening and closing speeches at Honors Night, and the other officers will introduce this year’s foreign exchange students.
“I am happy that my class has chosen me and the rest of the officers to represent them throughout this year! I am excited because I get to plan senior events!” said Newkirk. Newkirk will be in charge of most events with the officers, as she is the president.
The senior class officers will continue to plan for the class of 2026 throughout the year.
