This fall, PHS has welcomed two new teachers, Biology Teacher Jaden Hogan and English Teacher Alyssa Osborn.

Hogan graduated from Salem High School in 2021. She then attended Indiana University Southeast to achieve her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a focus in Life Sciences. Hogan filled the position left by retired teacher Laurie Jo Andry.
“I’ve always had a passion for science, nature, and learning. The support and guidance of my high school teachers inspired me to become a teacher myself. They showed me that science can be something truly spectacular and that great teaching can make a lasting impact on a student’s life,” said Hogan.
Osborn is a 2016 graduate of Paoli, where she attended the University of Southern Indiana, studying English and graduating in 2020. Although she had graduated in 2020, she was not ready to begin teaching until 2024. She realized she wanted to be a teacher, so she went through a transition program at Purdue University. She has always loved learning and said she landed on English or creative writing, to be precise. Osborn also has a love for French and pursued a degree in the language.

“It took me longer to realize I could combine all my interests into one career, and before I knew it, I was back where I originally learned where my passions started,” said Osborn.
Both will now complete their first year as teachers at Paoli.
