Booster Club Sees New Leadership

Speer Hopes to Raise School Spirit

The Booster Club cheers on the Rams.

This year, the PHS Booster Club is being led by Special Education teacher Alexis Speer.

“I’m extremely excited to take over the Booster Club and hope I can make this very fun for the students and get students involved,” said Speer.

Speer is taking over the Booster Club from the past Sponsor, Art teacher Chris Jones.

“I believe that Alexis will do great things and will be just the right fit for this club due to her ability to interact with kids,” said Jones.

PHS Booster Club is an activity offered to all students who attend PHS. The Booster Club will be selling shirts and sweatshirts, which will be available closer to the boys’ basketball season. Speer not only oversees the Booster Club, but she also assists Miya Scott in sponsoring the high school Student Council.

Speer plans to elect officers to lead the group as the year progresses.

“I plan to handpick the students that I believe will be the best fit in the spot they are placed in,” said Speer.

People can get involved with the Booster Club by paying a $2 fee to Speer and being added to the Google Classroom.

“I hope Booster Club accomplishes many things, for example, huge cheer blocks, everyone participating, and everyone having a good time,” said Speer.

Jackson Deweese is a Junior at PHS. Deweese is involved in Football, the Booster Club, and Student Council. Deweese plans to pursue his career in Construction Management. Deweese likes spending time with friends and playing video games. Deweese’s recommendation is Hibachi chicken with no veggies and extra yum yum sauce from Yamatos. He likes to watch SWAT with his dog, Saint. He also likes to go fishing with Ryley Butler.

Faith Kinnaman is a 17-year-old senior at Paoli High School. She is in an advanced photography class. She doesn’t really like school, but enjoys a few classes. She loves shooting sports and nature pictures the most. She loves animals, basketball, football, and all kinds of sports. Faith Kinnaman is competing with Ava Middleton for the most photos published. She lives with her mom and 2 brothers, Darrell and Baiden. She has 2 dogs, Astrea and Harley. She also has a cat named Merlin. She plans to buy a motorcycle sometime this year. After graduation, she plans to join the Air Force for either pararescue or public affairs.

Kirkland Hughes, Sports Editor-In-Chief

Senior Kirk Hughes is involved in PHS Media, Booster Club, tennis, basketball, and baseball. Hughes enjoys hanging out with his friends, bothering Nichols during the day, and going golfing in his free time. After high school, Hughes plans to go to the Laborers’ or Operators’ Union. The best advice Hughes could give an underclassman would be to go to sporting events and try new things, because you don’t know what you could learn or the people you could meet if you stay at home.
