Last week, PHS JAG hosted its annual 2025 Cutest Pet Contest. The event invited teachers and staff to share photos of their pets, which the school then voted on. This year’s winner was Shawna Walker with her cat named Little Dude.

The process that made all this possible began weeks prior. The JAG members had to overcome some obstacles before the contest could begin. They had to figure out who the entries were going to be this year to plan accordingly with their pre-prep, such as making the cards for voting. They then had to come up with ways to collect the votes.
Little Dude was selected as the top cat for 2025 and will receive a gift basket of treats.
“When I first found out I won with Little Dude, I couldn’t believe it! I definitely will be planning on taking part in this annual PHS tradition next year,” said Walker, this year’s winner.
JAG stands for ‘Jobs for America’s Graduates’, and it is a class designed to help prepare students for life after graduation.
The funds raised this year will be used for rewards within the classroom, as well as their upcoming Glow Stick fundraiser at the Homecoming football game on September 26.
